Hi
I'm moving to Longcot near Faringdon tomorrow and don't know anyone! I have two children, 3 and 1, and would love to hear from any mums in the area about what there is to do with little ones x

Good luck with the move.

I live the other side of Faringdon from you - so do not know Longcot well, but there is lots going on in the local area.

Probably your best bet is to get a copy of the Grapevine magazine. This lists all the local activities for Children in the Swindon area - but it does come out as far as Faringdon, and you will find some events listed in there. It covers everything from ballet classes, father and children groups, Gymnastics, mother and toddler etc... If you cat me your address, I can post you a copy if you would like.

I know someone who used to live in Longcot and she came into Swindon for a lot of things (like gymnastics), although you have got a great farm with play area in Longcot (Farmer Gows). Don't know how many local people use it for making friends.

And good luck with the move. Longcot is a lovely place to live - you'll find all the facilities you need in Swindon or Faringdon, yet you've got beautiful countryside on your doorstep!

Hello Sbatch I'm in Uffington. hope the move went well with two little ones. If you are looking for a good nursery, there's a Montessori held in our village hall (term time) I teach part time there. there's also a baby/toddler group on a thurs afternoon I think. This is an amazing place to live and raise a family although I only know this through teaching. am only 12 wks along with our 1st! fingers crossed for scan on the 4th. Welcome to the area!

Hello. Thank you so much for your advice and help. I have only now sorted out broadband hence the late reply. We are loving the area and the countryside. I have gathered all the local mags and there does seem to be a lot to do in the area. There's a nursery in the school here so we'll give that a go this term. Thank you! Sx
