Floor sanding

Has anyone had their floorboards sanded by a company/tradesman they would recommend? I have decided it's a job too far for me .

I'm with you on that! We had our hall, living room and bedroom sanded and varnished by Revive Floor Sanding, a local company who did a really nice job on our rather tatty Victorian floorboards at a decent price. They are still looking good a year on so am happy to recommend them.

Thanks for the reply Zoley . I'll give them a call. Everyone I've called so far seems to be on holiday at the mo, and none of my friends have had this done.

Happy to help, I didn't have any recommendations from friends either so called up a few companies and had a couple of quotes. Vincent and Dominic at Revive were the most competitive and honest about the state of the floor too and I was really pleased with what they did. Whole thing was very straightforward and finished in two days.

Another vote for Revive - their price was very reasonable, and they did an excellent job. A few of the other companies I phoned never even bothered to return my phone calls

Ah thanks . Following Zoley's tip, I got Revive in to quote a couple of days ago and I really liked them, but the price is quite a bit more than another (very reputable) company we also really liked so prob won't be going with Revive. Would have been very happy in ever other respect and they seem super busy.

Have found the same as you, MDM, with erratic customer service from floor companies -- in fact that was what prompted me to post. If mine goes well I'll post their name on this thread.

I promised to come back to this thread if we liked the people who did the job in the end, and we did. It was Silkwood Floors -- absolutely lovely people, floors look beautiful, great advice and they certainly went the extra mile with a few unexpected developments. Highly recommended!
