Anyone know about renting in Brighton?

We're moving house and are looking to rent, I've heard that rental property prices are usually more expensive during the summer months and then come down once the students are back. Does anyone else know about this? We're thinking it might be worth waiting a couple of months.

I would suggest you contact some of the letting agents down here, such as Parks or Leaders and ask them.

I've just trawled a lot of rentals in Brighton, as have sold my house and need to rent whilst my partner sells his house.

I haven't rented since I was a student so am not an expert BUT what I would say is that there is not much available that is not studenty at the moment, and that is forcing the price up..? Don't know how big a place you need, and what's your preferred location, but generally the standard I saw was quite low :(.

Eventually found somewhere that is only 2 bedrooms but higher standard, so expensive for what it is, but would rather not live in grunge!!! Paying 1150 a month in Hanover. (Now panicking where everything is going to go but never mind...)

I would use the property websites first (RightMove and find a property are prob best) and also gumtree which has agency AND private rentals. Then when you've seen a few you can chat the agents up a bit and some of them (!) are then quite responsive. I found Leaders (Tina at 5ways excellent) and Property Moves the most conscientious.

Good luck.
