help! childcare advice in twickenham needed

So I've got to go back to work in February and I'm finding this whole childcare lark incredibly stressful.

I've been to see a few nurseries in Twickenham, but the only one that is pratical to get to and then to work is Teddies - but I didn't get a great feel for the place and it's got dreadful reviews on mumsnet.

I'm now considering finding a childminder, but there are hundreds registered and I don't know where to start. Am so overwhelmed by it all. Doesn't help that I'm dreading work too so feeling stressed about it all.

I'm looking for childcare between 8am and 6.30, close to Twickenham train station, and in my fantasy world I'm picturing outside space, sand pits, nice toys, good food, clean etc.

Any suggestions of childminders or nurseries gratefully received x

sorry - also posted under childcare - wasn't sure of the best place to put this

It has been a year since they left, but my dc were in Teddies by Twickenham Station and I was happy with their care. (But think they are only open to 6? Could have changed now)
I think the Teddies on the (?)Staines Road is the one that has been less popular.

You could try this site I have found it really good for finding childminders.

You could also contact Richmond's Family Information Service and speak to one of the early years advisors. Their website will also have details of registered childminders.

There is a new nursery in the centre of Twickenham - around the back of the Police Station (the Corner of Holly Road and Grosvenor Road) I think it is called Bright Beginnings.

Finding child care that you are happy with can be a nightmare - Good Luck

Building Blocks on Fulwell Road has a great reputation, but Fulwell train is slow.

My son has just started Trafalgar Day Nursery on Meadway. Near to Twickenham Green and even closer to Whitton station.
I can't recommend them highly enough.
But it may be too far for you.

Hi 'letmestayathome'

Im a local childminder not far from fulwell or strawberry hill station. Leaving your loved one is very hard, and the image you invoke is lovely.

My setting doesnt have outdoor space, but we are constantly out doors so have access to sandpits at local playgroup aswell as messy play in doors. I offer healthy meals and an idea of our food menu for the month. A diary so you are filled in about all the important happenings of the day.

If you would like to contact me for more information my email is [email protected]
Take care and good luck with the search.
