I am in Elm Grove, I cant seem to find any groups for babies they all seem to be for toddlers. Any advice would be great as am very keen to get out and about now and meet some new mums too!! x

Ok, Elm Grove not really my area, but - take a walk to Hanover Community Centre - halfway up Southover St. I think they do a group there, but even if it is more geared to toddlers, you might find a friendly mum or two or someone who could point you in the right direction.
Also, St Martin's on Lewes Road, plus the Salvation Army place at the back of the Level near Ditchling Road - they may well have baby groups. Also, The Sure Start centre near you - Morley Street?
As your baby is still so teeny, there may not be that much to do specifically for his age group, but you might want to try baby massage (at Karel Ironside, Ditchling Road), or maybe a singing group (Jubilee library has one, but it is very busy. There are loads of others though).
My suggestion would be to find a copy or look online for ABC magazine, which is full of listings and adverts, or contact the NCT to see what they know about.
I do think having mummy friends when you have a little baby is a life-saver, but I would be wary of doing too much - your baby just wants you at the moment - plenty of time for social interaction later

Have fun!

There's the sure start centre in BGH which comes up if you google city view elm grove.. things might have shut down for the Summer but if you rang them you could find out? They run a baby and you group just for non-crawlers and baby massage too.

Hi, I live in Hanover too. My kids are a little older, but we still go to a few groups, all those mentioned above are great places to meet people. There's also a nice group in St. Joseph's hall on Milton Road on Friday mornings. There are lots of toddlers there but little ones too. You'll probably find the group at St. Martin's will pick up once the weather gets cooler. The group at city view (BGH) is lovely too.
