Hello, I live in Glasgow, but we are thinking of a life changing move to Exeterwe have 16 month and 4 year old girls. We would both need to find work in Exetersocial worker and architect! I know Exeter city centre, but no idea where to start. I would really appreciate some helplooking for a good area to live in/ local schools (don't have to academically be the best, but good friendly community schools)we are not however millionaires! Might even think about somewhere a bit out of the city, but able to commute ok.
If anyone out there also works as a social worker for the council i would love to hear from you (i'm in child care). Also anyone who knows an architect as well....!! We really are going in 'cold'.
Also...please tell me the weather will be nice and sunny!!!
I would really appreciate any info and if you want to move to Scotland am happy to do the same!!
Thank you

I have a friend who is a social worker in Plymouth and they always seem to be recruiting (if that helps) - she's just about to move to another job nearer to her home though. I can give you some info about where not to live!! CAM me if you'd like some info.

It's always sunny in Exeter even when it's raining!!!!

Hi, I will be looking tomorrow Exeter, we live in SE England and have a 2 years old and a 6 months old baby. We want to be able to afford a house and some good schools (at least where they can make good friends, it does not have to be the best academically)... I have been looking and St Thomas is sth we can afford. is it nice/good for families? I appreciate your answer!

I moved to Exeter just under 2 years ago because of work and it has been the best decision ever. We live in the Gloucester Rd area of Exeter, which is about 20mins walk from the city centre. Fab bus routes, close to the main train station.

Martina10 st thomas is the area next to Exwick, there are some good schools in both areas and some lovely houses. As with anywhere there are some areas that are nicer than others.

PM if you need any help :)

Thanks Ladylou83. We've been on the weekend and St Leonards looked nicer, than St Thomas, but then we've been only passing by on the car, so we did not 'feel' the area well! Do you know where there is a good property sales company (or real estate, sorry, I am from Argentina and sometimes I write more American, as I've lived there for a long time!)...
Plus, I am trying to figure out what would be the cost for two kids (one of 2 and one of 6 months) to go to a nursery or childminder.... I have an excelent nanny here in London that I will have to give up, and then I have to figure out some days I need to come to London by train, if I can get some tkts that are not so expensive (as the ones I've seen online!)... to see if this is still worth it...but we are really looking forward for a change of life and have the big outdoors near our house!
thanks for your post again Ladylou. Grin
