Nursery Drop Off

I know that at best this sounds nuts, but does anyone have any ideas for how I could find someone willing to travel at commuter rush hour with someone else's kid (albeit a relatively well behaved one!)??

I live in Richmond and work near Waterloo, so currently take my 2 yo on the train with me to the work nursery. She really loves it there and I'm loathed to take her out when I go on mat leave in November (pregnant with second, due in Dec!). Problem is, can't bear the thought of being on a train for 2 round trips a day either...

Ideally, I'd love someone to bring my 2 yo to the Waterloo nursery 2-3 days a week and I'd pick her up?

I have thought about advertising at work for someone who lives near-by to do it, but would prefer someone independent (if you know what I mean). Any ideas for how on earth do I find someone to do this?!

Thanks everyone, no-one ever said life was meant to be easy, eh?

how about taking her out and putting her with a childminder nearer home?

Put up a notice on the childmining thread or try the Netmums local thread for Richmond (childcare topic). There are a few older women and others who wish to be active and also make a few pounds. Might get lucky. However, if you are going back to work you wont actually bring two children in to nursery near work will you? I would suspect that would be quite hectic and so as waiting lists (particularly around 3 years landmark because of the free 15 hours a week) are very long in this area (I know I live here) I'd personally move dd1 to nursery closer to home and arrange for new baby to join later. Up to you of course!

Thank you very much for the suggestions - sorry for the delay in getting back to you! Smile
