Walk In Centre or A&E?

Hi everyone.

Did you know there's an NHS Walk In Centre right near A&E (couple of minutes walk on Turner Rd and with its own car park) where you can go (kids too) to get more minor injuries and illnesses sorted out. You don't need an appointment and you can usually get seen much quicker than at A&E. It's open 7am - 10pm every day, 365 days a year. Anything life threatening or emergency, A&E's the place to go though.

NHS North East Essex are running a campaign to let everyone know what can be treated where so take a look at their website. www.choosetherightroute.co.uk

Yes thanks...it moved from the Town Centre to the PCT Building.Much more convenient for us.
If you need X rays etc best go to A&E though...
It has GP Practice Status as well.

You can have your blood test there anytime from 7am.

There's also Minor Injuries Units in Harwich (at Fryatt Memorial Hospital) and Clacton (at Clacton Hospital) if you're in either place over the summer. They offer Xrays at the Minor Injuries Units and again usually much quicker than A&E.

I think it's a pita out at the hospital and proves no point at all. I much prefered it and found it more convenient where it was in town - tbh I wouldn't use it now it's at the hospital site.

The minor injuries at Clacton will only do an X-Ray if there is a doctor present. We had to take DS there a few months back as the rabbit bit him & he needed an X-Ray, we ended up having to take him to Colchester A&E for one & we were there for over 3 hours after spending almost 2 hours at the minor injuries unit in Clacton so not always the case pinkdaisy.
