Jolly Babies drop-in nr Turnpike Lane

I co-run Jolly Babies drop-in on Monday afternoons (2pm-4.30pm) at the Burghley Road centre, just off Turnpike Lane. It is a lovely informal group for under 3's in a great building with outside space.

We desperately need new volunteers to help open and close the group and ideally we need to find someone who will take over running the group from us when our children turn 3 in the next few months.

If we can't find new people to help out we will have to close at the end of August, which will be a great shame - this is one of the only afternoon activities in the area and is a lovely, relaxed place for babies and new parents to meet.

If you have small children and are free on Monday afternoons we would love to see you at the group and if you would consider volunteering even better!

I do hope you find new people to volunteer - wish I could but I'm back at work full time and DS1 turned 3 in May, or I'd bring them when the childminder's away.

Burghley Road is brilliant. When I lived in London I travelled all the way over form Hackney to Turnpike Lane to go there with DS.

It's got a lovely, friendly atmosphere, it's a great place with good facilities and DS and I loved going there. We really liked the was that the session ran for the morning, lunch and the afternoon, and you could join it and leave when it suited you. And the lunches were yummy!

If you live locally (or even not so locally) I highly recommend it.

kaypea how are you doing with finding volunteers?

I've just come from Burghley Road today and just want to mention what a great place it is and I urge people to use it as I was the only one there! The volunteer was so welcoming and it is a perfect place for the kids to play inside during this cold weather. Its open Mon 2-4.30 and Tues-Fri 10.30 - 3.00 and they usually make lunch at a small cost.

Yes, can I add it's also really good and friendly for grannies, if you have your mum or MIL babysitting. There is almost always someone to talk to and often other grannies too.
