hi I am going to have my baby any minute, hopefully,and am wondering if there are Any other lonely mums in the Edinburgh area who would like to meet up to hang out. I live in Shandon and am 32. This is my first baby and i'm not feeling particularly maternal. I've been on maternity leave for nearly 5 weeks now and am bored out of my brain.

I can't help as not your part of town but I'd recommend giving the NCT a call. They do organise loads of things to help mums meet each other. Even if their philosophy isn't your cup of tea (it's not mine) they are brilliant for things like NCTea parties and post-natal groups. There used to be a Bumps and Babies group at Blackhall Library, maybe there'll be something closer to you that's similar.

It is pretty normal to feel bored with a 5 week old so please don't feel guilty (like I did).

Have you spoken to your HV about any classes going on in your area?
