Scallywags Westwick or Kids Unlimited Science Park?

As per the title, I think I've now narrowed it down to either Scallywags nursery in Westwick, or Kids Unlimited on the Science Park. Does anyone have any experience of either or both of these nurseries. I've looked around both and Kids unlimited seemed a bit better organised, but I like the outdoor space at Westwick (although the children were all inside when I visited - do they use the outside a lot?). Anyone got any opinions on these nurseries? Many thanks!

I wasn't keen on the huge room at Westwick for the pre-schoolers. It seemed chaotic when I went to visit. My son is at KU Wolfson Court, they have a fantastic garden, gardening area and fields beyond that they use. Good luck!

Many thanks! It's a bit out of my way, but not out of the question to drive to Wolfson Court so I'll definitely look at that too. I know what you mean about chaotic, but wasn't sure if it was just tne time of day I visited.

My DD has been at KU CSP for nearly 3 years. Overall, I've been pretty happy with the care she's received there. Most of my niggles have been around the admin/communication side which is very much secondary to the actual care the child receives IMO. They have had a new manager for about the past year and I do think things have improved on the communication front since then.

No direct experience of Scallywags to compare although I do have colleagues who use it and seem happy.

Hi might be a bit late, but my son has been at KU Wolfson Court for 1 year. We had an awful experience with a childminder prior to that. At first KU Wolfson Court was an improvement from the CM (not difficult though!), but we weren't 100% happy, however the manager changed since January and the place has improved hugely, my son is really happy there now (took him 6 months of illnesses and tears to adapt! :-)) but he now loves it and can't wait to go, the place is clean, they do lots of outdoor play and the staff is very friendly and motivated. 2 of the girls in his room do babysitting for me as well and they are really brilliant. Good luck, I know by experience what a nightmare it can be to look for childcare in Cambridge and how wrong you can go....still feel awful about the time he was with the childminder, but I didn;t know any better and had nothing to compare with.

I went to look at KU science park, and the lady who met me at the door was very grumpy and rude. When I asked how to arrange a visit to look around the nursery, she said that you can only view at two times each day, which happen to be just before and after school pick-up time. When I said that I could not make those times she replied "oh well" and showed me promptly to the door! Based on that experience alone I would not send my child there. But glad to hear there are other good nurseries out there. I will go and look at some that have been recommended above.
