Which is best for you? Bonsoir and I can do either of these dates. No venue yet, but will be somewhere fairly central.

Bristol or wherever, I know you emailed me and I didn't reply - I have too many rendez-vous to find restaurants for at the moment [dizzy social life emoticon]. But yes, I am up for the 8 June - but not sure where and how many we are - will try counting on thread.

thereistheball · 30/05/2010 08:25

I can make 8th June too - please count me in. What time of day are we talking? I have DD with me until 2, then she's at nursery til 6.

Happy Mother's Day btw!

Bonsoir · 30/05/2010 10:55

We were thinking lunch. So - 12.30 to 14.30? Is that compatible with you?

MrsSchadenfreude · 30/05/2010 10:59

Were we? I was thinking drink after work. But lunch should work for me. Will check diary.

OP posts:
Bonsoir · 30/05/2010 11:00

I definitely cannot do drink after work. Oh gosh, I can feel this is going to be complicated!

MrsSchadenfreude · 30/05/2010 14:28

Lunch should be fine. But we need a venue - where are people coming from?

OP posts:
Bonsoir · 30/05/2010 16:56

Yes, indeed - where are people arriving - station etc?

MrsSchadenfreude · 30/05/2010 22:21

So for the 8th we have:

Me
Bonsoir
Thereistheball (bring your DD with you)
Greythorne
Teafortwo
Flyingcloud (or not)

Where shall we go? Maybe somewhere a little more casual than the Bristol might be an idea.

What is a good location for people?

OP posts:
flyingcloud · 31/05/2010 06:50

Sorry - defo can't make lunch on the 8th. Have a meeting outside Paris that day and won't be back before early eve.

Enjoy though! Hope you all enjoy meeting up and once again huge thanks to MrsSchadenfreude and Bonsoir for organising.

thereistheball · 31/05/2010 15:14

Re venues: I need to get back to Antony (RER B south, about 35 minutes from Notre Dame) for 2pm, so will have to leave around 1.15 if we are close-ish to that line, earlier if not. I could just pop in for a quick coffee while you eat?

After-work drinks are also fine for me.

teafortwo · 01/06/2010 22:03

Lunch is not good for me either. Sorry!

MrsSchadenfreude · 01/06/2010 23:02

Right, so who can do

a) lunch and

b) early evening drink

on the 8th.

Either, or.

And a preference for a venue please.

I think I can do either (but need to check work diary tomorrow) but have a strong preference for drink after work.

Or shall we put June meet up in the much too difficult box for now, and go for September? In which case I can't do the 25th as it's our wedding anniversary and DD's birthday.

OP posts:
thereistheball · 02/06/2010 09:06

Evening drink better for me, but can do early lunch at a push. Don't mind about venue. Teafortwo, would be nice to see you!

Greythorne · 02/06/2010 15:25

I can do lunch on June 8th but will have the Dcs in tow, so would have to be somewhere less swank than the Bristol (but I like your style).

MrsSchadenfreude · 03/06/2010 22:41

Shall we do both then? Can someone suggest somewhere for lunch, and possibly a drink, so that I can just turn up? Despite living in Paris for six months now, I know very little of the city, as I go from home to office and back, and have been working long hours, so weekends tend to be spent chilling out.

Sorry - I know that sounds wet. I would suggest, selfishly, somewhere near Monceau or Pereire for the drink after work and somewhere central for lunch (again, selfish).

OP posts:
Greythorne · 03/06/2010 23:23

MrsS - what time would your after work drinks be?

MrsSchadenfreude · 04/06/2010 15:46

My boss has kindly put a meeting in my dairy for the 8th which starts at 1.30, so I don't think I'll be able to do lunch on that day.

I am, however, up for a drink after work. Greythorne - I am flexible. My nightmare workload has now eased off considerably - could meet as early as 5 or 7 if that's better for others.

What's a good place to meet?

OP posts:
teafortwo · 04/06/2010 19:20

I can do a drink after work near Parc Monceau.

teafortwo · 04/06/2010 20:32

However... For the evening I am wondering if somewhere more central might be better for Greythorne, flyingclouds and thereistheball?

I find Le Fumoir on Rue de l'Amiral de Coligny a really nice balance between comfy and cool. Actually, I think it could be quite a good place to meet...

P.S Incase I haven't said it already... BriocheDoree... MAHHHOOOOSIVE congrats on your dd's school!!! Absolutely FAB news!!!!

Greythorne · 04/06/2010 23:23

hello
actually, i am West side, so Parc Monceau is perfect for me....having said that, it is looking tricky for me after work (annoyed emoticon) so unless there's a lunch contingent, I may have to wait until Sept....

MrsSchadenfreude · 06/06/2010 16:50

So is it just me and teafortwo?

OP posts:
teafortwo · 06/06/2010 21:27

I don't know????

I have sort of lost track of who is and isn't coming!!??!!

Is there still a lunchtime and an evening thing?

Thereistheball - what are you planning on doing?

Greythorne · 06/06/2010 23:48

OK, cards on the table!
I can do a lunch thing with the 2 DCs in tow.
Can't now do after work drinks.

Anyone??

thereistheball · 07/06/2010 10:11

I might be able to make a drink after work, though I will have DD in tow unless I can get DH home early. Somewhere central suits me best. Are we settled on Le Fumoir? (Doesn't sound v child-friendly )

BriocheDoree · 07/06/2010 13:06

Well, I still can't make the 8th, but would defo be up for meeting in September but prefer weekend (as DH never ever home early in the week!)
Tfor2, thanks! We are mighty pleased about DD's school. To say it has been a "parcours de combatant" is putting it mildly!
