Help needed! (Present to be delivered to Spain on/by Mon)

Hi

I wonder if anyone can help? It's my mum's 70th birthday on Monday. My sister and I 'always' go halves on presents and I bought Christmas and reminded her at the beginning of last month that she would need to do her birthday but she has now come back and said that 1) she has no money (!) and 2) she doesn't know what she wants because when she asked my mum said "I don't know".

I am a bit angry because I have had to think up the last few years worth of presents from us and she hardly ever pays me back. I know what she's like and I guess I am angry with myself as I know her past form and shouldn't have relied on her.

Anyway, I have spent today with a fractious one year old walking round the shops and cannot find anything I like enough to buy her for a special birthday.

I am REALLY hoping that someone knows of a fab website (perhaps Spanish?) from which I can buy something nice which will be delivered on time. My budget is only about £60 as I am not confident I will get the money back.

I have arranged for flowers before but they never make it to their house (they live in the back of beyond) so I need soemthing that will go by regular post/courier.

Can anyone help. PLEASE ??????

Many thanks in advance!!

what about a photo album filled with photos of you and family, say over the last year, you could even add bits of things like ribbons etc to the photos inside and take photos deliberately of you all doing something silly. You could make a story up of the photos or add silly captions. i think she would really like this as i assume living so far away she doesnt get to see the family quite as much as she would like. You could even include a dvd of you all sending your wishes at the end. it won't cost a lot neither but is more personal.

Hi

Thanks for the suggestion. I have done a few photobooks for her over the years and was going to do one of lo's first year but ran out of time. I am not very arty and prefer the clean lines of photobooks. I only just saw today that the Kodak shops do photobooks the same day (although they charge £20). Might get one done tomorrow, send it off and keep my figers crossed. However, Tesco are doing them half price (£6!) and I had started one of those for mothers day ...

I also posted this under the regular Chat forum and someone suggested gift vouchers for El Corte Ingles (a dept store). I loved that idea until they looked and postage - for the gift card - is nearly 10 Euros!

Thanks very much for the suggestion

Can you phone her favourite local restaurant and pay for a bottle of champagne/meal?

Hi

Do you want a Spainsh website or an english one that delivers to spain. For example Marks and Spencer and next both deliver here now,but have never used them so cant tell you about relability of arrival.
Also www.play.com has free delivery (does books/DVDs etc). Have used them loads but they deliver by local post.

You could try www.elcorteingles.es , a big Spainsh department store.

I wouldn´t relay on local post here tbh, I dont even live out back of beyond but only have post delivered two days a week!!! So often get parcels from UK late.

Hope this helps.
