Are there enough of us to merit a Mumsnet Local page?

I'd be happy to do Tsarina duties if there are, but no point if there are only about 5 of us!

Any lurkers?

sorry to gatecrash and this may be a longshot but i may be travelling to Al Ain to visit my dad at xmas.

ill have my DS5 and DD2 with me and was wondering if anyone knows Al Ain and if there is anything to do with DC there?

i know we will probably visit Abu Dhabi and Dubai whilst there but its just Al Ain that we are unsure of.

thanks for your help.

Quite a bit to do in Al Ain, we often do weekend trips from Dubai. We call it the city of roundabouts! Lots of parks and museums, the zoo is very popular and lovely when it's a bit cooler. Jebel Hafeet is a lovely drive and stunning views, there's a hotel near the top for a bite to eat. Then the usual shopping malls, local eateries.

When are you planning on visiting? If it's the cooler months, October onwards then you should have no trouble entertaining your young ones. HTH.

barbie I don't know what kind of hospital you are looking for but if it is one that is baby friendly then the Al Wasl hospital in Dubai is as baby and breast feeding friendly as you will find in the ME. It is the government hospital. They also have an active breastfeeding group with lactation consultants etc. They are also not overly keen on keeping mums immobile so you are less likely to end up with a c-s. Also allow partners in the delivery room etc. I understand that some hospitals in the UAE have well over 50% c/s rate.
