Well, the big decision has been made and we're relocating atlast back home to the UK. I thought it would be great to have a bit of advice from those of you who are planning this too or who have already done it maybe.

First steps for me will be getting a place to live (staying at parents first) and a bank account! been out of UK since I was young free and single, returning with 2 dc and dh still be working abroad.

I guess I will have to register the dc with NHS in some way, I still have my old numbers and documents but they were only registered at teh Britsih Embassy after birth.

Yes, my h is able to set up a room with thousands worth of equipment to measure the tiniest electric impulse but he can't even set his own internet and telephone up. I bet he'll be on the phone to me loads of times asking how to do this and that and I seriously suspect he won't know how to take the curtains down in the old flat to put them up in his new flat.

Anyway, I tried to return a gas bottle from one of those Soda Club machines yesterday and no one would take it. In the shops they said we only exchange for a full new one and one woman said I have to send it back to Soda Club which is a pain because it's quite heavy. I daren't just throw it in the bin. The machine is long gone as we didn't use it so I didn't want to pack it.

Ad, that's what my ex does with cells! He was able to set up phone & internet but not able to change a loo roll.

Anyway, can you leave the soda thing for him to deal with. It is vaguely scientific...
