Anyone in Italy and afraid of earthquakes?

Another strong one in Rome this pm. I've packed emergence things for the whole family. Anyone else nervous?

I lived in Naples, it didn't take much to get me back to UK, I am afraid to say.

I'm up north and had never given it a thought in all the years I've been here. We had an earth tremor just before Xmas and I thought it was the metro. I have relatives in Umbria and Le Marche who suffered some damage in the Umbria earthquake a few years ago but it hasn't put them off living there.

On the news they said that the ancient Roman buildings fared the best, so maybe you should squat in the Pantheon? If you live in anything built in the 70s I'd move out now!

Oddly enough, none of these camping holiday comments have been mentioned in the Italian press. I only learnt of this through people living abroad. Still, I suppose it's the price to pay for having a PM who is the press. The slimeball.

Sorry minor aside. Can't stand the guy, his insincere comments, his gaffes and his astroturf hair.

He is gross, but I'm not sure he even said that camping thing. The Times article said that the german journos said that he said it, but it didn't appear on the interview tape. I thought his earthquake response was quite good actually. Shame he doesn't do something about all the mafiosi running building scams and lying about compliance with regulations. Thanks for the emergency box thing!

I was quite impressed with how the dignitaries didn't sit on the best seats at the funeral like they did in S Giovanni di Puglia, but stood at the back (like they should) with the plebs. Berlusca included.

I'm not scared of earthquakes as am slightly too far south east to get a biggie. (we felt the SG ones very strongly though)

I didn't watch it - hard enough reading the papers. I remember the SG funeral so clearly - heartbreaking
