Aus specific baby name question- please help!

Hi to All Aussie Mumsnetters!
I have a bit of a problem with a baby name choice and the opinions I am getting here (UK) seem to be very dependent on where the poster lives.
The focus of my confusion is the name Cameron.
I always thought of it as a traditional Scottish name, but apaprently it has suffered some damage due to Ms Diaz and is now regulalry given to girls and (in England at least) thought of as a bit chavvy (bogan).
Just wondering how it has faired in Aus?
Not too bothered about english opinions as we will be moving back to Sydney before DS has to contend with too many class issues, but just wondering if he would face the same issues in Sydney?
Any thoughts gratefully received.!

This has reassured me that I won't be inadvertently throwing our new DS on the Dakota/Maddison pile.
We've just had confirmation that we'll be able to move home (Sydney) at Christmas, so your assitance will become relevant sooner than we previously expected. Very exciting!!

Hooray for moving home! I was demented with excitement when we finally set a date to move back.

Where in Sydney are you coming back to?

We've narrowed out search down to between Clovelly and Manly!
We've never lived there with children, so we're having to re-think our old criteria. I think we'll probably end up on the city beaches or Balmain-ish. You're at Birchgrove aren't you? That would def be on our list. We used to live down near the Thames St ferry.
We're rushing to send £ back before the Bank of England start printing money and the exchange rate plumets.
