Kids visiting family - how do you do it?

I dont particularly want to go back to the UK this summer but kids do and family want them. Its not only not wanting to, also work doesn't really allow it. The kids stayed there last year with their family, but family complained not enough time. Not sure how to make kids and family happy as I cant stay for three weeks. Thinking perhaps an accompanied flight might work, how much do they cost, who does them,. We're in Italy.

All ideas welcome, especially cost efective ones

Bumping for you.

same difficulties here, we are pressured into going back every three months, we have the only gc so the guilt is great, we tend to only go for 5 days at a time, and only once a year on mass. It also means we dont really get a family holiday because we use up the time and money going back and forth to uk.

How old are they?

moondog · 10/01/2009 21:32

How old are your kids.
They can go as unaccompanied minors if the grandparetns will have them (how great!)

costababe · 10/01/2009 21:32

sorry meant to add eldest ds has been travelling as an unaccompanied minor since he was 14 with easyjet and spanair, not sure if that applies to your situation.

Think BMI do unaccompanied minors, as trying to find out how long I have to wait before sending DC's of to various godparents.

They will be this summer 11 and 7. So if they are going to grandparents they dont need to be accompanied?
