Can anyone give us some practical info? I have changed name to protect the innocent! DH is about to lose his job and I am self employed. We are getting a bit fed up with the UK and want a better life for DS. He is 2.5 . How long does the process take? Do they have nurseries in Canada? What is the education system like? Any info would be greatly appreciated.

From what I can tell, finding reasonably paid work is probably easier than finding reasonably priced housing - at least if you're planning on living in Vancouver itself. Half a million dollars for a 400 sq ft condo???

I have a friend who is currently job-hunting after mat leave and she has been using sites like www.monster.com and has had several interviews. I don't know if that would be helpful?

That's what I'd like to know too. We live in Langley and got quite lucky when we bought our townhouse. We've since had a DS and would like to move to something bigger but my god, some of the prices in the area!!!
