I am worried about the Euro!

Dh is paid in Sterling as he works in Gibraltar but we live in Spain, so all our outgoings are in Euros. Since dh started his job two years ago we have lost nearly a third of his wage. Can't sell as the market in Spain is rubbish as everywhere is at the moment and even if we could Gibraltar is incredibly expensive [on par with London] we wouldn't be any better off. So we are just going to ride the storm.

Sorry, just needed a little moan!

Oh no, what a nightmare for you. Moan away!

We have just (DH moved back on Weds) moved back to the UK from Cyprus where DH was also paid in sterling. Cyprus changed changed to the Euro last New Year - what a difference I do sympathise with you

I was talking to my stepmother in Ireland yesterday - she gets her pension money in Sterling, and like you is a third down on previous income and really struggling - moan away; it's bloody hard for everyone in this situation.

Thanks all, it's a blooming nightmare!

DP thinks the UK will have to join the Eurozone. We're getting hit by this too - half our money is in the UK and half in France....investments haven't done too well lately (understatement of the century) but we've lost a heck of a lot more on the Sterling ones comparatively.
