Trailing Spouses - am I the only one to find this a bit strange?

In DH's company the wives who accompany their staff on an overseas assignment are called Trailing Spouses.

As Finknottle put it "makes you sound drippy and needy, bleating behind your husbands in dishevelled floaty dresses"

Surely they could come up with something better?

I am a bit unsure what to do with my life now I am a Trailing Spouse.

I think it involves lots of coffee/wine drinking with other TSs.

LOL at overhead. Trailing spouse does sound a little bit better.

I quite fancy doing some trailing for a while instead of being the minority earner whose job has to give way to everything and who has no money at all [grump] [wishing DH would pull his finger out and get sent somewhere]
