We call home a few times a week and it costs a fortune on BT - can anyone enlighten me on how to call France cheaply?

I don't know about calling France, but I am in France and all my calls anywhere in the world are totally free once we have paid our monthly WiFi-landline subscription.

I think our call to landlines in France are free with Sky. Otherwise we use skype or alpha telecom much cheaper than BT

JustDial.com

You get a card added to your mobile phone bill in £5 amounts which you then use by calling an 020 number from your mobile (which uses your freeminutes) or your BT line.

You can use it for any country. very cheap.

France is currently 1p a minute to a landline. 11p a minute to a mobile.

Sorry. will stop spamming you. But I use mine to phone SA and it's a complete winner. Not least because I'm happy to use my free minutes for the convenience of calling from my mobile while I'm out and about.

You can call via the internet for free using Skype and you can call landlines in the UK for just over 1p a minute. Its great my dds get to have video calls with their gps in France and i can do the same with my sis and bro in th UK.
If you google Skype you should get their website.
