Can you ship alcohol into Canada?

We saw an amazing gift that my parents would love. (not that it matters but it was a big box of wines that are individaully wrapped with tasting notes.)
we would like to send it to them for christmas but the guy in the shop said you can't mail booze into canada. is he right??

i don't think you're supposed to, but a famous whisky shop in Edinburgh does it by saying the object is a lava lamp.

can you break it up and wrap it in something, a blanket or that?

they get suspicious of liquids, that's why this shop doesn't say it is something to drink.

Absolutely cannot ship booze to Canada ! Worked in the drinks industry for years and they were by far the most legislated country in the world, only exception being the middle east /religious areas where alcohol is totally banned !
I wouldn`t risk sending anything expensive as it will simply be confiscated.

he's right, but we hid a few bottles in our stuff that we air freighted. Just didn't declare it. On the way back, the Pickfords guys turned a blind eye to our box of Granville island pale Ale

We accidentally shipped a bottle of Gin in (overland). I'm sure we weren't supposed to, but as we are on a temporary visa they take the view that you will take it all away with you when you leave and so are not so bothered. We had to give away all our booze when we moved to the States though
