Could someone give me a realistic idea of what it's like to 'up-sticks' and move overseas please?

& how did you go about finding work/accommodation/schools etc etc etc over there?

Sure I'll have lots more questions as time goes on but it is only a baby idea at the moment . . . need to sort everything over here first with family

TIA for any info or thoughts offered

Oh, and, are there any useful websites/magazines you could point me in the direction of to find out about what we need to do.

Cheers

Hi there

We live in Madrid. You could try www.mumsinspain.com or mumsabroad.com But I'm no use on the practicalities of relocation side of things as work did the whole thing for us! Merely to say that we are having fun and love our life here - it's much more relaxed than London (where we moved from) and more family focused for us.

Do you speak Spanish?
I wouldn't recommend it if you don't unless you want to live on the costa del sol and even then it's not easy.
