How to meet people in Abu Dhabi

I’ve just moved to Abu Dhabi and would like to meet some like minded people. I’m not going to be working and my kids are grown up so don’t have the school connections. I am living on the Corniche. Any advice most welcome!

Why did you move there? What are you planning to do if not working?

I have moved here with my husband (who is working) but at the moment I don’t want to get a job as I will need to visit home (UK) fairly regularly. I can imagine if I stay here a while I will eventually get a job but for the time being I need to make some connections for my sanity.
