Trends on leaving UK versus returning to UK?

I wonder if there are anecdotal trends on those leaving the UK vs incoming or even returning into the UK?

We are presently overseas and had been planning to return in a year or two, but really very anxious about it all for a variety of reasons, VAT on private schools causing disruption to the education system, crime, anti social behaviour, health care, the unknown of what Labour might do, etc.

Perhaps it’s just a watch and wait situation, but it would be interesting to hear anecdotally if people feel there is more of a trend outward especially, and if so, general reasons why.

We've been abroad since 2020. Thought about returning to the UK last year but decided to stay put. I try to not let everyday politics influence my decision too much, because everything can change again within a few years. However, I'd be more likely to return if public services are better even if that is accompanied by higher taxes.

The trend to move away from the uk mostly comes due to work opportunities and better pay and work conditions. However I am also aware that some are moving back, mostly parents who want to enrol their children into secondary schools as some parts of the world maybe not offer the breadth and extent of opportunities for children going to secondary school.
