hi all, looking for opinions and or advice. we are contemplating buying one property in Spain and one in Cyprus. the idea is to live in one and rent out the other and then swap every 90 days. we realise there will be tax implications etc just wondered if anyone else has done this or thought about it??

I think Cyprus is due to join the Schengen Area soon plus the ETIAS visa waiver system is likely to come into place later this year. Do you have or can access an EU nationality? If not it would be difficult to move between two EU countries within Schengen without residence rights and associated obligations in at least one EU country as you would be over the 90 days in 180 days. I have residence rights in one EU country but that does not give me rights in any other if I do not have EU nationality.

You’re going to rent the unoccupied house for three months each time. It sounds very complicated and likely to be an admin horror. This is putting aside whether you’ll be allowed to stay in the EU as you propose without residency
