Hi,
We moved to Bangkok a year ago. I was wondering if there were any other foreigner mums on here to chat about life? Smile

Me! Been here 5 years now. What shall we talk about?! 😁

Me! I have been here for a year now :)
How are you finding it?

GingerTulip · 16/07/2023 14:03

I really like most aspects of it, especially for my children. We have a lifestyle here we could never afford in the UK, including a nanny I bloody love and who has seen me through health issues, pregnancy, newborn, separation... all while maintaining utter discretion and loving my children and just being generally amazing!!

The only downsides for me are the cost of flights from the UK, meaning very few visits from family, and the gross male culture. But the women I know here are awesome and I have a great tribe!

What about you? A year is how long they say it takes to settle into any new location, so hopefully any culture shock has worn off and you've found your groove now. Are you in BKK?

Ahh I completely agree!! I love my lifestyle here! And love having a nanny, and love the freedom. I also love how many things there are for children.

What do you do for work? How old are your children?
Yes, the flights are so much more expensive than they were years ago, we would love to come back to England twice a year but just can't justify the costs.
We are actually in England at the moment, and the fresh, clean air is a lovely change!!

Am I too late to the party? Two years in, just outside Bangkok!

Me! Have been here many many years. Love it but the air pollution is a serious concern, this year we are seriously considering relocating down south for 3-4 months, if I can wangle it with my work...

We're really enjoying our time here. My OH and I met here in 2015 and now we're back with kids and a not nearly as much energy or free time but the life style here is so easy to enjoy! Even just taking the kids to Lumpini park for the play ground is better than the damp Cornish play grounds at home 😂

My son is at Lumpini playground at least three mornings a week. However sometimes it is extremely damp, completely flooded in fact, if it's rained the night before.
