Did you ship furniture?

Hi everyone, I’m trying to decide if we should put our furniture in storage and buy new in Singapore, or ship furniture.
Any experiences welcomed!
The condos I’ve been looking at in Singapore seem to be unfurnished.

Didn't move to Singapore but yes we shipped our furniture (to the Caribbean).

DH's employer paid and we know its more expensive here so we even bought extra ikea furniture and didn't build it until we got here.

We equally know a lot of people who only moved with a couple of boxes and bought furniture here.

Given how damaging this climate is to furniture etc. And that we're only staying 3-4 years max, we're very happy with our decision. We wont be shipping most of the furniture back home (most of it is old and has been well used by 2 hyperactive kids!)

We did Singapore and no we got furniture there- there are 2 big ikeas and other more upmarket places too. SG is very transient so selling it on when you leave is easy.
