DAUGHTER SEEKING LIVE IN POSITION CENTRAL LONDON

Hi there

I have a mature, responsible gorgeous 18 year old who is moving to London from New Zealand. She is seeking a live in post in central London. Obviously as a Mum it's super scary for me to let her go but she's sensible, smart and determined so I am trusting things to work out. If anyone knows of a position please let me know. She is happy to do Au Pair work, housekeeping work, hotel reception work etc. - but at her age we both prefer a live-in option. Thanks in advance for any guidance!

I think it’s an employee’s market right now, especially for being an au pair - huge shortage because of Brexit. I suggest she gets on one of the au pair websites - she will have lots of offers.

will she have a work visa ?

HollyNZ · 15/06/2022 23:49

She has dual nationality as I'm British so she has a British passport yes.

Thanks. That's encouraging. She is signing up on Au pair sites.

She will definitely be in high demand as an au pair, they are like hens teeth post brexit.

There are a few unscrupulous families out there who expect far too much from their au pair (full time hours, weekend work for no extra, looking after babies solo) so do tell her to pick her family carefully. Most are lovely though.

She might feel happiest in a zone 2 or 3 family area with other au pairs and young nannies to meet up with, rather than zone 1 central London where not many young uns live.

Kia Ora! Heres a link to The Lady's job advertisement. Should be agencies listed there too.
I did the same thing 30 years ago - had the time of my life and are still here in UK.
