Not from London but I did move here from UK. It's a really friendly place with plenty going on, especially in the summer.

What sort of things are you into? There is a big swim all seasons contingent here, plenty of running clubs and lots of classes etc to take part in.

I haven't experienced any issues settling in and have made friends both local and other ex-pats from a variety of countries.

Guernsey is a great place to live. You will need to find a job with a housing licence attached though.

Thank you all. My DH had an interview for a post but did not like the 'vibe' of the organisation once he got there. We did love the island though. I will keep my eyes on the job market.

It is lovely here in Guernsey. However there is a terrible housing shortage on the rental market at present so if you do decide you want to move please bear this in mind. I would suggest job acceptance “subject to finding suitable accommodation”.

Hi @PearTreeBoat can I ask if you've found a strong ex-pat community here in Guernsey please. We moved over last summer as my partner is from here. Settled kids, have family in law but struggling to find my kind who are not from here...

@verryberry I made a fair few expat friends in the first year I was here by joining the rowing club for a couple of seasons. Unfortunately most of them have moved back to UK or other countries, due to work and locum contracts. My remaining friends are either British or South African mainly. Feel free to PM me and let me know what sort of things you are into/groups you would be interested in and I'll see if I can give you some ideas.
