Can anyone recommend anyone to go to for some advice around visas? Husband is a citizen (married 10 years plus) we have just come to sort my visa with a view to going back and it seems confusing and says will potentially take 3 years. I think we could do with some professional advice.

Did they explain why three years? You should be able to apply for a partner visa (subclass 309/100) which is a bit paperwork intensive but not too difficult, particularly if you're organised.

Maybe there's a big queue due to COVID delays etc - you can check visa processing times here - immi.homeaffairs.gov.au/visas/getting-a-visa/visa-processing-times/global-visa-processing-times

Anyway, I heard www.gomatilda.com/ is a recommended migration agent. Based in Hampshire I think.

thanks for the reply, we naively assumed that it would be fairly simple but I think it is down to covid and other issues (maybe similar to passport issues here!) I think with us both working full time if we could pay someone to help it might be helpful. I’ve dropped them an enquiry and hopefully someone will call me tomorrow!

Hope you got some clarity from a migration agent, but in your situation a partner visa would be something I wouldn’t use an agent for. You’ve been married 10 years so the required paperwork shouldn’t be too difficult, and you’re going to have to slog through the forms and dig around for all the required evidence anyway.

I submitted mine late March and they’ve already started processing my application. Feel free to PM if you have any questions.

Wouldn’t be something I’d use an agent for

We're using this company for help with a visa for NZ - impressed so far:
