I have a job offer in the Northern Rivers area of NSW and wondered if anyone one had any experience/knowledge of primary schools in that area?

Lots of the schools in the area remain closed after the floods and there is an accommodation shortage as so many homes were damaged/destroyed so I would do your homework carefully before planning your move.

Thanks for replying flatandhappy

Yes, the situation regarding the floods is worrying, I am hoping that when we go (October) that the situation might have improved a bit, and luckily I’m going out there to a job within a large government department who have said they will help secure accommodation (and pay for the first 3 months - which I presume helps in terms of being a successful applicant for a property).

Worth getting yourself over to the pomsinoz site. There are forums which are state-based and could be helpful.

To be fair, where you live is not the same as where the school is.

Thanks echt

I go on pomsinoz quite a bit, it’s been so useful during the visa process, and I’ve had some really good info about the area, but not much info about specific schools, so thought I’d try my luck posting here too.
