Anyone in Dubai? Will Schools Stay Open Now?

Interested to hear current residents' thoughts on whether you think it's likely Dubai schools will stay open now or if you think there will be more covid related closures (I know there was a very long closure in 2020-21).

What other covid measures are there? I heard something about only 2 passengers in a taxi. Also know masks are mandatory pretty much everywhere but that's no worse than where I am now.

I know Dubai reasonably well as I lived there in 2008/9 but obviously it's massively changed (the outer ring road wasn't finished) and also I didn't have kids then.

Also, what's the best property website for rentals? Just want to have a look at prices.

TIA

Specifically, I'm interests in current resident

Are you thinking of moving there? I think google will answer your questions.

The schools closed for the summer term 2021 and have been open ever since. Classes andyear groups close when there are a lot of cases. Children years 2-13 have worn masks for the whole time but life has gone on as normal.

Rental prices can be seen on Dubizzle

I think google will answer your questions.

How is google going to answer whether parents expect schools to stay open in future? Surely that's a matter of judgement/ opinion and current residents will always have insider info/ rumour? In HK if you google school closures you will be informed that schools will reopen on 21 Feb. Any parent will tell you that is not happening. We'll be lucky if they're open by Easter. Also there's a difference between what is the law and what is enforced - for example in HK, masks are enforced and compliance is high but the gathering of four rule is widely ignored and barely ever enforced.

Thanks frangipan. That's helpful. I forgot about Dubizzle- sold my car on it in 2 hours in 2009.

Sorry I meant summer term 2020

Our school has been open since September 2021. Rental prices are currently crazy. The villa next to us is currently empty and is being advertised for more than double what we pay.
