2 weeks til we leave London, I'm sure I should have done more than I have...

I've bought Christmas cards, and I've chucked out a lot of stuff. That's about it. I still have to packh for our month with our parents over Christmas, and my mind is just scrambling at the logistics of packing for 2 climates - ie Cyprus and then the first 6 weeks in Oz. Did anyone post over a smaller parcel to arrive at their new destination way ahead of their shipping?

Last day at work today, so hoping I will get my brain into gear and get something done from now!

Am worried that we will turn up in Sydney in the middle of 40degree heat too...

Actually worried about so many things I find it easier just to ignore it all. and I'm not usually a head-in-the-sand person...

Have you redirected post, taken photocopies of birth certificates and passports (you could post them to your new address), arranged utilities cut off here? We had very similar timings over Christmas and I ended up taking a suitcase of decorations and cutlery- stuff we couldn't do Christmas here without and missed the boat for sending on ahead. No need to risk post, the movers can arrange for a small airfreight to be delivered ASAP.

One suitcase per person is enough.
Pack summer clothes and Cyprus kit separately, so you only open suitcase you need.

And yes, scan documents and take USB key in handbag or at least photocopies of birth certificates/property deeds etc...

Notify local council and utilities in writting with recorded delivery. They tell you ok on the phone and 6 months down the line you're still getting bills in your redirected post!!!
Try calling them from the other side of the planet!
(This time I simply cut the direct debits which forced them to actually update their systems and send me the updated closing bills)

Walk in the parcs............I so miss it now (I'm an ex regent park die hard). I dream of a long walk in cold winter air.
