We've moved to France with our British car. The insurance's going to run out before we get our French licence plate. Do you know a French insurer that would be willing to insure it as it is for a short period ?

Merci. I contacted 2 qnd they sounded q bit dodgy to me. We only need it for about 2 weeks so I think it will be cheaper to rent a car. Plus they only insure 'au tiers', which wouldn't cover the 2 of us, so useless.

I think au tiers is just 3rd party insurance, ie. the legal requirement. What do you mean it won't cover the 2 of you?

Ib is right. Au tiers is 3rd party.
Why do you only need it for a couple of weeks?

When the vehicle is on French plates you'll have to insure it with a French company.
