We arrived 3 days ago with 3 kids under 4. We've got an AirBnB near Retiro for the first six weeks but no idea which district to move to after that! Haven't tackled the metro or bus yet with the double stroller 😲 Anyone else on here new to the city?

Not new but hopefully I can help! Some metro stations still don't have lifts so using a stroller is a no-no, unless you're able to carry 3 children and a double stroller down stairs! You can get a metro map of accessible stations online though.

Buses are great. I recommend downloading the EMT Madrid app for lines, waiting times, how to get from A-B, etc.

Regarding the best neighbourhood, if you give me some information about what you're looking for, budget, etc, I'm sure I can recommend a few to look at.

If you haven't seen it already, look at Idealista which is the equivalent of Right Move.

Enjoy the Retiro area, it's lovely and you'll probably never see it so deserted again!

Hey @CatSmize thanks for your reply! We tried the bus today actually (went out to visit the Templo de Debod but were defeated by stairs 🤦🏻‍♀️) and it was fine. I'm impressed that the buses have three spaces for strollers!

For areas, we would like somewhere with character, period buildings, nice bakeries and shops and cafes. Green spaces. Family friendly. Easy to walk around with a double buggy. Budget about 2k euros per month for minimum 3 bedrooms, furnished. It doesn't have to be central as long as it's easy to get into the centre. Any recommendations super appreciated 😊
