Anyone else? Or are your DC already in school? What's it like for them?

Primary DC starting half classes for two days and then full school. Separate break times, that's all I know.

Maybe it varies by state to be extra confusing, but our football Verein are not resuming training because they'd have to offer seven separate training sessions in place of the usual age group training sessions with 28 or so kids together. I can't see how schools could offer PE in groups of 4 unless they're really bending the rules and scattering groups of 4 around the pitch...

Must be regional. Teams are not allowed to meet, because they consist of children from different schools. But they are allowed to play within their cohort i.e. as part of a PE lesson.

www.muenchen.de/freizeit/aktuell/2020/corona-lockerungen-diese-sportarten-sind-erlaubt.html

That article explains it for Bayern, but perhaps it's different where you are (I am assuming Germany because of Kl.2 etc. but of course that might be Austria or Switzerland ...)

AllIMissNowIsTheSea · 13/05/2020 12:29

"Maximal 5 Personen" so the same

How are they managing that at school?

Haypyrexic · 13/05/2020 12:30

From the education authority. So as long as they play non-contact, they can play "football".

The 5 person rule doesn't count for at school if it's within the same class (or they couldn't have the kids in the classroom)

I read that differently, as avoiding all contact sport, full stop. New point sport lessons should be outdoors if possible. That doesn't mean (to me) that football, which is usually a contact sport, and is restricted to groups of 5 with special rules, is currently allowed as a school sport.

However it's clearly open to interpretation if the 5 Kl teacher has decided it's OK and the Grundschule that it isn't.

I don't have a child in the 4th class, so my Grundschule child isn't back and we have now information on how they will go back.

My secondary age children will only be doing core subjects though - eldest was back this week, just Monday and Tuesday, and only had German, English and Maths because her French teacher is high risk so still doing elearning. 6th class child goes back next week, every day but only 8am to 10:25am and also core subjects only, so no sport. So the states are doing return to school differently as far as sport goes anyway (as in it's not a core subject so no school sport here at all atm!)

AllIMissNowIsTheSea · 13/05/2020 12:42

There is no way on earth Grundschule children would manage to stay 2 meters apart whilst playing football though!

In a classroom they have set places they're not allowed to leave without permission and are not doing group work.

Our schools have them in half class groups, maximum 14 children in a classroom for secondary.

If they did athletics or any other sport not based on chasing a ball it would be far easier to enforce Abstand (stay in your lane, literally :) )

Haypyrexic · 13/05/2020 12:59

It's all one school Kindy, Kl1-6. I'm just a bit surprised they won't be doing any kind of sport. There's some kids who clearly haven't been doing anything with their parents (one of DD's friends has put on a fair bit of weight). Ok, traditional athletics is boring, but surely it's better than a walk around the village.

So now, after some debate with the head the 2 classes will in fact be allowed to go back. DD will be in on weds for 1.5 hrs and the following week for 3 hrs Confused

Haypyrexic · 16/05/2020 18:28

Urgh. One week back and one child vomiting. So much for extra hygiene. Please tell me that you can be sick from too much Switch.....
DD has been nowhere apart from school this past week. Last weekend, both days home as weather was bad and week before school at home and we only went out to play catch and football together. Didn't meet anyone and played just between the three of us.

Haypyrexic different transmission routes for gastro bugs than covid though, so different hygene emphasis Anything causing vomiting is highly likely to be transmitted via food or drink (or contact with vomit or poo - hopefully not!) whether a virus or food poisoning via bacteria. Might have come in with the grocery shopping... Hope DC is better soon!

Haypyrexic · 17/05/2020 11:10

Envy hopefully not indeed!
Well, it's still just her who's not been feeling well, although seems fine this morning. No temp or anything. She's not had anything that we haven't. Apples are pretty much the only thing she had alone but I've eaten from the same pack. DH is quite convinced it because she spent most of the day gaming on the small screen Nintendo switch (I know, I know) as DS is on a screen ban so she took it to her room.
