Singapore dependents pass for child

DH and I have our employment and dependent passes. DS is still waiting for his - it took longer because of all the vaccination forms.

We have our one way flights for Singapore already and there is a chance that DS' pass won't arrive in time.

What are our options? He's only a toddler - would they not allow him in? He is allowed to visit for up to 30 days, but can he enter with a one way flight ticket? Should we purchase a return flight in so that he is allowed entry?

How long have you waited for your vaccination verification? It takes about 5 weeks so you might be nearly there...

Omg, I thought it was 10 working days but I can see on the website it's been changed to 20, and looking on the internet 4-6 weeks is normal! No we don't have time. DS has a UK passport. Can he get in without a dependents pass or does he need a return flight?

He can go without a DP but you might need to get a LTVP if you want him to go to school?
If not he should get 90 days if you're on a British passport- they know how long it's taking for the vaccinations so it's not uncommon

Thanks, that's reassuring. He's not in school yet. The agent who booked our flights suggested he may not be allowed through immigration without a Dependents pass or return ticket. I emailed the consulate and they advised I speak to my employer. I've emailed MOM for guidance.

He can definitely come in without a DP. You may need to book a return flight though- def check with MOM.

I did email MOM and their reply did not answer my question exactly, but suggested a return or onward flight might be necessary.

I'm not too sure what to do. Can we book onward flights to say Malaysia instead, just to get through immigration, in the hope that the pass comes through before we have to use them?

On that subject, DP and I have a letter approving our dependents passes but we obviously won't have the physical versions until we enter Singapore. Can we get through airport security/immigration with just these letters and our British passports?

Hi @Mummy3574 to be on the safe side I would book an onward flight to anywhere; KL is closest flight to Singapore or any Malaysian airport- can also try Ipoh, Langkawi, Penang.

As for you and your DH your IPAs are fine to come through immigration- it's the same for everyone as you have to go to MOM and have your photo and fingerprint etc before they issue the physical card.
Good luck in Singapore - it's brilliant here you will love it. If you're having any expat struggles as you get going drop me a message!

Thanks for the advice! Just to update the vaccinations approval just came through! Hopefully the dependents pass will be quick - DH took less than 24h.
