Moving to inverurie, aberdeen....help

Hey
So we are currently living in guernsey, channel islands😊 we have finally plucked up the courage to move to off this little island. So there is me and hubs and our 3 children (14,11,7)

My inlaws live in aberdeen, just outside of inverurie, so we are starting out there as it just makes sense to have their support with such a big move.

My OH is leaving on sunday, he has struggled to secure a job whilst still down here, so he will be spending 6-8 months up there working, saving and finding us a home, schools etc then we will join him once everything is in place.

I think im just looking for abit of advice in general really, anything to make me feel less stressed 😂 we know inverurie quite well but from a touristy point of view i guess. Like we know the area but im slightly clueless on schools, gps, basically the everyday side of things. I would also love to get to know a few people too.

Any help or advice is greatly appreciated

You probably want this moved to Scotsnet or a local board for Aberdeen. This is the section for people moving or living overseas and Inverurie is in the UK.

HuckfromScandal · 11/02/2019 18:40

you do know that Inverurie is part of the UK :-)?

One suggestion might be to try and find a local Facebook page for Inverurie.
I lived on the North East coast way south of where you will be going for many years and I'm still a part of their Facebook group.

As pp have said ask MNHQ to move your post to Scotsnet.
Just put this @then type MNHQ

QuintadiMalago · 11/02/2019 18:49

Or use the report button to ask them to move it for you

Hi!
I am in Aberdeen and know the Inverurie schools. Love it out that way. I am sure you guys will enjoy the experience. Your 12 year old will have a shiny new school soon and the primaries are good. You can go very rural with an idyllic multi composite or modern open plan large primary. Which way would you be thinking of leaning?

Is "hubs" a Guernsey word? What does it mean?
