If I remember correctly, there is an Mner named Sarahinphuket - presumably she may be able to help, if you can find her?

SarahinPhuket is not in Bangkok but is your best bet for Thai connections-CAT her?

schnapps · 06/05/2007 13:56

Thanks guys

And a bump for SarahinPucket. Would you mind me contacting you?

My friend does. She's just opened a shop there too.

Really? How great! I'm going to live in Bangkok and would really like to be in touch with people already over there for an insight, advice etc.

Quite a big expat community there from what I gather. Why are you going out there?

i'd love to live there, just got back at the weekend actually

schnapps · 06/05/2007 17:49

I've got a job over there. Is there a site on the internet I can get chatting to people who are over there already? A thailand version of mumsnet perhaps?

What's your job? SOunds exciting! My friend went there with her dh, but has now set up her own business.

I'm a teacher, Aloha. I've got a job at an international school. It certainly is exciting!

Which school?

(I used to live there in the early 90s but have friends there now and know some others who are moving there this summer to teach also).

I lived in Krung Thep (Bangkok) in 2001 an 2002. I gave birth to my son there. Bambi is a very useful organisation. It stands for Mothers with BamBi in Bangkok - Thailand & Babies International. The website is here

Sidonie · 12/05/2007 09:47

This is a useful book

schnapps · 12/05/2007 12:12

Thank you, Sidonie, both of those links look really useful
