Hi, my son was accepted into the jfks school entrance class 2017/2018. My husband and son both have German passports. I just wanted to let people know that after many months of research and basically stalking the jfks website, I can confidently say that the school is much better than I expected. I am particularly impressed with the entrance class curriculum.it really is worth the trouble to get your kids in. It's basically free of charge private school education. I am so thrilled that my son got in. I simply cannot understand the negativity towards the jfks.

Given your child has not actually attended the school, would it not be presumptuous to give an opinion positive or negative?

My son has been attending the school since October 2017 that is why I think I can give my opinion about the school.

It may well be fantastic. Worth pointing out though, that it is very hard for many to get into.

First priority goes to those with American passports.
Second priority goes to those with German passports - although even there competition to get in is very fierce.

If the child is a native English speaker -even if fully bilingual - but doesn't fit into either of the above two categories, the chance of getting accepted is very small indeed....

Yes it is quite difficult to get in. My son first had to pass the German proficiency and general knowledge test. Then after the lottery, he was number 6 on the reserve list. Then in October I received the email from jfks that he had gotten in.
