Should I go clothes shopping here before I emigrate to Perth?

I've heard that generally the clothes aren't great in Oz, so would you recommend I hit the shops here before I go?

If so, what sort of things do you recommend I should buy. We should be there at the end of April (fingers crossed).

Thanks

NM

Personally, I wouldn't. Fashionable clothes may be hard to get hold of over there and if you are the height of fashion over here...... over there you're just going to look a bit of a berk iykwim

I was very pleasantly surprised when I was in Sydney in November - I liked the clothes much more than here. There seemed to be plenty of Australian labels/designers around so presumably that's not just local to Sydney. I'm not the world's greatest follower of fashion though

I'm no fashion queen! I'm going to Perth where I've been a few times but I've not had to think about going there to buy clothes IYSWIM. I've read on another site that in general the quality of the clothes isn't as good so I was wondering whether anyone who lived in Perth would agree.

Should have put that first time!

I've not been to perth, but in sydney the clothes are fine - same sort of range as here really, from cheap and nasty to expensive and good quality. If theres a particular brand here you like then buy a few things before you go, but apart from that I wouldn't bother.

Good, am pleased to hear that, although I might manage a quick trip to my fav shops anyway before I go....

I used to live in Sydney and loved the Aus clothes, they're better for the climate and also with exchange rate they work out much cheaper ! Perth also has a nice shopping centre or at last did 4 yrs ago when i was last there!
