I'm in Wellington. Was pretty dramatic last night - didn't get much sleep! Now waiting for the bad weather to move in.

Luckily our house is fine and not suffered any damage. Kids a bit shaken. Anyone near Kaikoura? Hope your all safe!

Earthquakes are quite frightening, I'm glad your ok. We're no longer in earthquake prone areas thankfully but we use to live near the West Coast for many years (prior to the Canterbury quakes) and they always use to scare the shit out of me.

Earthquakes aren't the issue we we are now, Tsunamis are as we're in coastal North Otago and at sea level so I got no sleep either as we were Tsunami alert all night, and I on standby all night ready to evacuate. (We're 5 mins walk to the beach...)

Sorry you now have shit weather :(
