We are emigrating in a couple of months - coming to Sunshine Coast. Have 3 year old and 2 year old. Looking around Maroochydore - is this a good area? Looked on realestate.com.au - anyone got any other good links for looking at houses for sale?

domain.com.au is another good one. I'm looking in Sydney, unfortunately the most expensive place for houses in Oz - bloody typical!

it may also depend on the type of visa you have - know friends had all sorts of problems trying to buy a house in both their names as she was an aussie, him a pom. So that might also be worth checking out.

What about - the main companies like LJ Hooker, PRD Realty, ones like that??

They are the 2 best sites I think, you can get the names of some of the main real estate agents in the areas you're interested in off there, and search their individual sites as well. Might also be worth looking on google.com.au for any house and land developments on the coast, if you're interested in building.
Are you going to rent for a while first, to get a feel for the area first?
