how much are laptops/printers and digital cameras in oz?

We are emigrating to Oz in a couple of months and need a new laptop / printer and digital camera - anyone know if would be better waiting until we arrive? Which is better price Oz or UK?

Hi Hayleyhew. My BIL in Brisbane bought my MIL a digital camera for Xmas which we paid half for.

It was a cannon powershot A430 4 megapixel camera, rechargeable batteries and charger, 1 gig memory card and carry bag for $237-00

Not sure about hte laptops!

Whereabouts are you heading and when? DH, me and the kids are planning on heading to Brissie latest Jan 08....he is an Aussie but been here with me for 11 years!

We bought a dell laptop online cost us round $2000 aud, in the shop same thing wod've been easy $3000.

Lot of major stores are online so you can have a whizz at whats available but most of them are factory packed so you cant boost up your memory etc you have to pay them extra for that after you've got it and they get there techie to do it. Harvey Norman, Wow sight and sound, Chandlers, Retravision, Officeworks, Dick Smith Electronics their online store is quite extensive probably best one to look at.

Printers very cheap you can get one of those canon scanner, copy and printer for $79 at Big W, Kmart, Harvey Norman, Good guys.

Digital Cameras are pretty cheap sis bought a nice 6mp Pentax $140 at Big W

we got our pc from dell online and it has been brilliant.

keep an eye out for sales and you will get a good camera quite reasonably.

Printers you can pick up as cheap as $79 as cheekychick said.
