Hello

the Modern World and its attendant pressures has finally forced me in to getting a mobile telephone.

I don't want to do anything other than make and recieve calls, no cameras, no video, no blue whale tooth none of that palava.
I 'm thinking a pay as you go thing.

What do you reckon? What have you got?
I would rather avoid going to shop at Crazy John's for aesthetic reasons but welcome any suggestions

I thank you.

suzy dh just bought a simple nokia( from telstra) and he was with Telstra. We were then able to get a $5 sim card with out phone/internet company and he gets $20 worth of calls. We are with AAPT. You could check out the ones you can get from big w, kmart, same sort of phone as dh and reasonable price.

I got a phone/phots and videos etc from B shop and I pay $18 a month ( contract) and get that amount in calls. as dh and I rarely use our phones I really do not go over the call amount and neither does he.

hope that helps. Crazy Johns - is it still going??? the one at our local shopping centre has gone.

dh's telstra phone started out as a pay as you go - and I started with a simply nokia pay as you go. Really seemed like Optus and Telstra were very similar in price etc.

Hi SW. There is a very special vodafone for people like you with about 2 buttons.

Not scary at all

suzy - big W this week have a nokia phone, as well as bonus mp3, esky with built in speakers $99.

suzywong · 22/11/2006 05:31

and esky with built in speakers???? you mean a device for keeping beer cook with built in speakers.

Oh lord I think I may have to drag my self to one of the strip malls, I still find them frightfully vulgar though ...... even if they are cheap and you can get everything under one roof

yup - looks like you plug your mp3 player into it and hit the stubbies whilst chilling out to your favourite music

arfishymeau · 23/11/2006 11:56

So I've spent the last 20 years bringing mobile technology to the masses, only to be outdone by an esky with speakers?

eidsvold · 23/11/2006 20:41

LOL arfishy.... it does look naff but who knows - can always use an esky for those stubbies.

eidsvold · 27/11/2006 21:36

so what did you end up getting Suzy??
