I have a pampering morning tea put on by our local down syndrome association - yummy food, massages, facials, raffles, and so on.

then take dds to grandma's house, pick up dh, off for dinner and then off to see U2 in concert.

No doubt will be totally exhausted and grumpy as hell come Wednesday morning.

Hope you back a winner.

who Paul Kelly?

I mean morning tea, not lunch, quaint phrase - I don't think I 'll ever get used to it

just remembered - 2004 - melbourne cup day was due date with dd2 - was asking massage therapists if they had a massage for bringing on labour and whilst they said they did - would not be in on it - can't imagine why.... iwas hot, fed up and ready to have dd2 out!

Hi, hope you're having a great cup day. Saw lots of very glam people wearing hats on my drive to work this morning. It's a pretty huge deal this Melbourne cup day. Will crack a bottle of vino when I get home and have my own little celebration.

eidsvold you have just reminded me I have a voucher for the local day spa to use. Think I will phone and make an appointment for a pedicure and facial. Enjoy U2.

suzy - still on for a meet up?

sydneygirl · 07/11/2006 07:44

We've just had an ace lazy day. DH off work so mooched around, watched most of the races on TV and then watched the New Charlie and the Choc Factory.
Convinced DS1 to watch the original with me a few nights ago (he's 4) and it was FREAKY! Nothing like I remembered and I felt awful for telling him how magical it was!
Johnny Depp one so much less freaky. Hooray. Anyone on for a Melbourne Xmas meet?

did anyone back a winner?? I did some sweeps and went off promptly forgetting to look and see who I had drawn. Massage was divine.

U2 was great although I was so knackered - had left home at 9am and was not back until just before midnight. Two tired girls who would not have a nap for grandma and then went to bed early but thought it was time to get up when we picked them up around 11pm.

Baby enjoyed some of U2 was kicking like mad to 'Beautiful Day' the rest of time - just swishing around.....

But totally knackered today.

Nice to hear the U2 concert was fab. Didn't back a winner but managed to win 1st, 2nd place in $2 and $1 sweeps at dh's work . Also won last place.

Went to a friend's place for a lovely lunch. Took the train and had a couple of champagnes and returned just in time to pick dd and ds1 up from school.

arfishymeau · 08/11/2006 12:08

Harrumph. I was 'working from home' so figured it was the perfect opportunity for a paid jolly down to the local to drink champers and wager some $$ on old nags.

So, I asked DP to take the day off work. He was horrified at the suggestion.

So I forgot all about it (somewhat huffily) and hence at 3pm I was in woolies wondering why there was no service.

mymamma - I am just pleased the rain held off until last night - we were not in the covered area!!
