Doha?

DH has been offered a job in Doha.

Can anyone tell me about it? Good places to live? West Bay would be most convenient for his work but seems v expensive? I like the look of Al Jazi but can't actually find any properties to rent there, so no idea on their price range.

We'll have 2 young children (pre school), and would be okay in an apartment I think.

Would we make friends easily enough?

For info, we like Dubai (Arabian ranches for example), started exploring options there, and then this came up!

Hi Jugglingmonkey I'm really interested in your thread and what you thought of Doha after your visit? My hubby and I both work in construction and we would love a move to the Middle East for a few years. Ideally it would be Dubai as we love the place but it seems like every position requires middle east experience. We may consider going to Qatar first as the industry seems to be buoyant there and much easier to get a job. We have two daughters aged 3.5 and 5 so need to consider what is right for them. Thanks!
