Advice for starting preschool/reception in Paris

Hello. We will be living in Paris this year and next, due to a job posting. We are looking at preschools for my 4 year old in Paris. My son does not speak French. (My husband and I are proficient, but not fluent.) We looked at École Jeannine Manuel, which seems to ask for an IQ test. Has anyone had the WPPSI, WISC or an equivalent test done for this purpose? We would be grateful for any advice, as well as any for any other recommendations for preschools in Paris (ideally not terribly expensive and convenient for daily commuting into the city). We have looked around for several options, but have never lived in Paris, so would be grateful for any advice.
Thank you!

You need to get in touch with Message Paris, they have all sorts of useful advice for people in your situation.

My DD is in CM2 (Year 6) of Ecole Internationale Bilingue - Monceau, where she has been for eight years since Petite Section (nursery). EIB interviews DC whose parents wish to enrol them (and not all DC are admitted) but doesn't go in for the very onerous selection procedure used by Ecole Jeannine Manuel. EJM is a very arrogant school full of uber competitive families - that may or may not be your thing (not mine). EIB is less boasty...
